One of our long-standing goals for the Engineer and Magus careers has
been to make their Turrets and Daemons, respectively, more meaningful
and impactful in a synergistic way, to help reinforce their role as a
central part of those careers’ gameplay experiences. We’ve mentioned in
several Q&As that this is something which has been on our plate, and
we’re now able to provide some details on exactly what we’re planning.
WAAAGH!!!
1.3.6 is out the gates and to celebrate the glory of Open RvR we’re giving you double the XP and Renown for killing enemy players and monsters. So enjoy the weekend, and the patch and may you find glory on the battlefield!
If you somehow manage to pry yourself away from WAR on Saturday to come to Baltimore Gamesday we look forward to seeing you there, be prepared to get your WAAAGH on!
Have a great weekend from all of us,
- The Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning Team
After much internal discussion and review of feedback from the community, we have come to a decision regarding the proposed disabling of Friendly Collision in Game Update 1.3.6.
In
game update 1.3.6, Friendly Collision will remain enabled. We feel that
in order to successfully implement as significant a change as this it
is our responsibility to devote more time to testing all of the
potential repercussions and consequences that come with the removal of
this feature. We aren’t taking the option off the table; we still
believe that the rewards of a significant performance increase are a
worthwhile cause, and will we continue to explore other avenues of
making the game even more accessible for more players; however we
believe, at this point in time, this is the responsible decision to
make, in respect to our community.
As a development team it is our responsibility to continuously explore avenues for improving the game experience for all players, both new and old. For many players, the friendly collision feature offers an additional layer of strategy and depth to WAR. For others, the feature can be frustrating and a barrier to enjoyment. However, what it comes down to is will this change to something that has defined WAR’s gameplay since the launch of the game have more Risk than Reward.
Thank you, the community, for continuing to help us shape the future of WAR. Your feedback and participation is important to us as a development team and continues to inspire us every day.
Please join in the discussion of this decision here.

Today, I’ll be discussing the specifics of the armor appearance changes
as discussed in the last producer’s letter. After much deliberation
about how to give players new appearances without imposing them on all
players, we’re introducing a system that gives everyone the freedom to
choose how they wish to look without compromising their character’s
power.
Greetings!
As previously announced last week WAR is joining the BioWare Social Network. Within the next 24 hours we will transition the Official WAR Forums from their current location to their new home.
Once all services are online and the new forums are available to players we will post instructions here on the Herald, but don’t worry - you won’t need to be a rocket scientist!
Stay tuned,

WAAAGH!
And welcome WAR players to the BioWare Social Network – The new home of the Official Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning Forums! As you’re likely aware Mythic is now BioWare Mythic, and a part of the BioWare family.
The BioWare Social Network allows us to bring two passionate communities together and enhance your experience across our games.
As you will find in the podcast we’ve put together above becoming a part of the BioWare Social Network is easy and only requires two things:
- A BioWare Social Network account
- And an active WAR subscription or endless trial account
Here’s how you do it, go to the Forums Landing Page or visit forums.warhammeronline.com and follow the instructions below:
Greetings!
Over the past year we have worked to grow a collaborative forum community where all players can come and get important information or just talk about the game they play. In less than 18 months you have totaled over 120 million page views with nearly 1 million posts across 80 thousand discussions leaving no doubt about your dedication and passion for WAR.
As we continue to integrate with the BioWare family we are pleased to announce our plans to bring two great communities together. Next week the Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning forums will join the BioWare Social Network where you will have the benefits of being a part of a larger community, one with a passion for gaming as big as our own.
We’ll be sure to provide clear instructions and information next week before the transition. For now you don’t have to do anything and can continue to use these forums normally while we iron out all the details.
Stay tuned!

We have put together a brief FAQ below - have a great weekend!

Hello all and welcome to the June Producer’s Letter!
Through these communications I’ve emphasized how we listen to the
community and take your feedback seriously while planning the future of
WAR. For the most part, the “P-Letter” (as I like to call it) is
intended to be a short term look at the next version or two, giving you
a look forward at the months to come. However, it’s very clear that
there is a lot of desire to hear about long term planning. We hear these
requests loud and clear, and it is our desire to give you a better
sense of WAR’s long term plan by the end of summer. Our detractors like
to make fun of us for “being really excited” and “itching to tell you
about” some “really cool things” (yes, we read the snarky posts), and in
this case we want to shout it from the rooftops…but not just yet.

Hello everyone,
Welcome to the first Producer’s Letter in a post-1.3.5 universe! I hope everyone is enjoying the version and the new city changes as much as we are. While you get your city on, I want to take a minute to thank all the players who came out and supported the Public Testing in the past month. We held 14 different public test events–from the exclusive guild closed tests to the stability test, to the European and North American open tests. At each test we had Mythic and GOA employees, participating, taking notes, and gathering feedback. And from that player feedback, we have put weeks of polish, tweaks, features, and fixes into the cities.

It’s Memorial Day weekend in the United States - a time to remember those who served in the military and those who continue to do so each day. We’re proud of our veterans and servicemen and women; many of whom are our colleagues, customers, friends and family.
From all of us at Mythic, we thank those who have served.
